Black paint experts....

Have some scratched smudges on my son's black Mustang that I want to fix. One of his stupid friends at school must have put feet with road salt or sand on them on side of car. I never had black truck or anything before. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Do a web search for "Top of the Line" and light cut. It'll take care of it non-ebrasively.

I dont know how bad your scratches are, but I had really bad swirls and light scratches on my black'05 when I got it. I went to a car show looking at all the vendors for a solution. In the end I was impressed with the EAGLE ONE booth. He had me bring my truck right into the fairground to show me their product. He demonstrated their wax and swirl remover with their nano-technology polish. Especially with black make sure you polish side to side, and only use microfiber towels. If the nano-polish doesen't work, talk to a detail shop about having it clayed. My local shop will detail a vehicle to showroom finish for around $150.00.

You could try starting with a light cut polish, and if necessary move to a medium cut.

Thanks I'm going to look at some of this stuff, I really don't want to use anything abrasive and it's not bad enough for a body shop. You know the ratio, 30 seconds of stupidity = at least 3 hours work.....
