Ok I took everything out my 86 and started putting it in my Lightning. Got my Alpine hooked up and going. Went to run the 4 gauge power wire into the the truck and noticed there wasn't a hole in the firewall like there is on my 86. Where do you guys run your power wire? Also anyone have pics of how to take the door panels off? Is it just like the 80-86 trucks?
Anyone running component front speakers? Where did you mount the tweeters?
Ill most likely get Kicker KS680 6x8" rear speakers and Kicker KS650 6.5" door speakers.
Im going to try and get my cvr12" sub to fit. If I cant then ill get 2 cvt12s.
Check the firewall for rubber plugs that you might be able to use for passing wires through. Might just be hidden.
On my '87 (Big Red) there is such a plug above and to the right of the gas pedal, just a few inches away. That is as you look under the dash from inside the cab.
I had to run power to my brake controler and ran it through the boot that the steering colum goes through... Make sure you put it in split loom though to prevent chaffing
