Yet another HPOP question

At what time do you need a high performance HPOP? When i really put the pedal down my check engine light comes on and i think it is my HPOP...it is also leaking oil and i think it is killing my oil PSI. Im also going to slip in one more question...what is a IPR Valve and what does it do? and if you buy a high perf. one can it help your oil PSI?

You need a HIPO HPOP if you're running bigger split shot injectors, singles are usually good with a stock HPOP as they don't use that much oil.

You CEL is coming on because your engine is seeing more than the 22lbs of boost the factory set as the maximum and if not for the DP Tuner you got, it would de-fuel and you slow down. You can get a boost fooler thing to fix that light.

How much are you leaking? You would have to have a pretty big leak to kill your engine.

IPR valve- Injector Pressure Relief valve- it keeps the HPOP circuit closed at the necessary pressure to open the injectors. The HPOP is supplying a constant pressure at all tmes. It will let more pressure through at lower rpms, but keep more at higher demand i.e. WOT or towing.

Usually in the higher programs, you will trip the 1211 code even with stock injectors.

Sounds like you need to fix the leaks first.

The IPR is your Injection Pressure Regulator. It regulates your high pressure oil.

Yeah, it happens- try epay before you go to the dealer. But then again, sometimes that's the best option even if more expensive. Peace of mind is worth it....
