Ya its a steering stabilizer, It comes on most 4x4s, all the offroad editions, and most duallys for some reason

It is a steering stabilizer. And no my 350 has one but not all 250 or 350 4x4 has them my work truck does not.

Edit: I believe it is an offroad package part.

That is what I was wondering because I don't have one and my buddies 250 has one.

You still have the mount for the stock one so you can put one on your truck.

what does it do - or more specifically, how does sit impact the feel / drive of your truck?

It mostly has an impact on offroad driving it helps to keep your steering under control. As far as onroad driving there is not a huge deference in feel.

Edit: It also helps the steering when you run large wheels and tires.

I believe there are 2 types of mounts... You can use the stock mount, but it hangs down quite a bit if you do much off road driving !! There is also a mount that you can get that makes the stabilizer mount up behind the axle... Much better if you ask me !!! Mine is mounted on the stock bracket and I don't like it there... I will be replacing it soon with the other type and I will be getting dual stabilizers as well instead of the single !!

If you hit a nice size pot hole in the road and the steering wheel yanks like mine did, get the shock.
