Need some more input.... (help)..

Ok, I'm going with a MBRP 5'' Turbo back, stright pipe.... The guy at the truck shop has a used HyperTech Power Programmer for $150.00 (is it worth it) or should I go with SCT X3 (he'll sell me it for $340.00) The truck is stock, what else should i do before I wake up the motor? I read alot about head bolts, Do i need to have them done?

I use the truck (05) for pulling a bass boat, alot of hills and mountains. Looking for better gas and more power.. The motor only has 25k on it.

doe's SCT stand for SuperChip??????

Thanks for the help.......

Take a look at what these guys have to offer. I hear nothing but great things. Welcome to Elite Diesel Engineering These guys have everything you need for your Powerstroke. I was told the guy that started the company was an engineer for Ford at one time??? Don't know if it is true or not but everyone I talk to rave about these folks. I have the Stage 2 injectors (90 HP) from these guys on my 04 F350 FX4 6.0 PSD and it runs great.

JHB if you have the $$$ buy the SCT. If not, save up for one. Before you put a tuner on your truck it is strongly recommended that you first install some gauges. If you're going to tow "tuned" make sure you're towing with a tune that can handle it. There are tunes specifically for light and heavy towing, and there are tunes that you can tow with up to a certain weight. then, there's all out plant your azz in the seat tunes. Sure studs will be best, but you might not need them- now or ever. Some 6.0's will lift the heads without having been tuned, some won't, and this is a much debated topic we don't have the time to go into right now. Good luck!
Oh, Superchip makes the SCT, not sure what it stands for though, maybe someone else here knows? And make sure the SCT is unlocked before you buy it, and check how many unlocks are left and let us know.

Do you intend on moving up to a larger turbo and injectors? A 5" exhaust may look cool but won't help with MPG or HP numbers.
