My truck does this from time to time. It smoked a little today. Just like you said, at low rpms. I went WOT from a rolling stop to about 60-70 mph twice. It hasn't smoked since. I just figured where I normally drive conservatively, it just needed a good run.?

Make sure your turbo is bad before replacing it.
If you need to replace or rebuild the turbo Ron's Turbo Service has turbos and rebuild kits. He is well respected, has good pricing and answers the phone if you have questions. Ron's Turbo Service
If you have never replaced a turbo before it is a guess as to how long it would take.
I don't know if the turbo is the problem but it moves in and out about a 1/2 inch at least so I'll start there if it's not the problem I'll head for the injectors thanks for all the help I'll keep you guy's posted
Dave, I've rebuilt my turbo once, but removed it twice due to loose exhaust housing.... anyways I got it down to where I can pull it in under 20 minutes. The worst part is taking the damn v-band clamps off the y-pipe. Use plenty o' PB Blaster or WD-40, and drink about 2 beers before you try to remove that clamp. Even them you'll probably need a hammer and long screwdriver. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice I'm gona try to change the turbo next sat. I'm gona get a remaned. turbo from superior diesel in Detriot wish me luck and Ill take all the sugestions you guy's have
I was thinking after looking at the turbo that looks lika a crappy job to remove it what if I remove the engine the oil pan looks like crap and it looks like the motor needs to come out to change that or can it be changed with out removing the engine???
Dawg, do a search for oil pan fixes. Most folks would try to seal the oil pan with POR-15 first, which I believe is sort sort of 2 part epoxy sealant, but don't quote me. Most swear by the stuff as it's a helluva lot easier to clean and paint the pan instead of cutting frame cross members or pulling the block....
epoxy the oil pan does that work or is a quick patch I don't like to fix things again I'll check into the epoxy as far as cutting the cross member out thats not going to happen I did see the guy's picture's who did that with his dad's help it looks like it came out nice enough but I just could not cut my truck in half I will check into the epoxy
I see you pulled your turbo in 20 mi. maybe I'll try going that way
Thanks again Dave
it moved in and out about 3/4" it was leaking oil into the engine the base was leaking too so we rebuild it too I think thats were the oil leaking out of the engine was coming from
