Windshield trim

Ive had my 84 ranger 4x4 v6 since brand new(dec 83), I have rebuilt the motor, replaced rear axle, dropped tranny and trans case, redone the entire interior in 25 years of ownership. Generally, Ive rebuilt this whole truck in 315,000 miles of use and its once again a D/D., Question is....Its developed a water leak around the windshield, How the H**L do you get the trim around the windshield off with out destroying it?!.......Pretty funny to have the truck this long and be stumped by something this simple!.....Thanks in advance!

Having done my 84 BII, I recommend having a windshield shop do it; but that's just one man's opinion.

That is also my opinion as the trim piece is sorta flemsey and easily damaged. After all this time, I would say the old girl is worth it.

checked the wind shield shops, they want $175 to $200 bucks to reseal!, Gotta be a way to remove trim without destroying it. Any windshield pros out there?........Appreciate the responses so far!
