Rear Differential Question..
I have a 2006 Ford F250 (5.4L) with a 3.73 rear diff.
I was stuck in the snow a few days ago. I had my driver door open when I was trying too rock back in forward in the snow to get out. I notice when I was in 4x4 my rear passenger tire was spinning, but not the rear driver side tire. Is this how it works? I thought when I switch to 4x4 from 2x4 that both tires work together. I have the switch on my dash. I did not try to switch manual on the hub. The light lite up and you can hear the unit working. Is my ESOF damage or is my rear diff damage? Do I need to get a posi traction/limited slip gear installed? Any information will be helpful.
Thanks..
If you want both rears to spin, you need to upgrade the diff to either a good limited slip or locker. The stock LS wasn't great even if you had one.
I am tired, but I think in forward, the right rear and left front should have power, in reverse it's the opposite.
