the D50 that was on my truck had 6 bolts for the hub. I did a google search and came up with: D44 8 1/2'' ring gear. D50 9'' ring gear, D60 9 3/4 ring gear.

If the **** for locking in the hub doesnt have ford written on it, it isnt the stock hub.

here is an easy way to tell the difference between a Dana 44 ifs and a Dana 50 ifs.
the 44 has a smaller locking hub.
look at these 2 pictures, and you will see the difference.
while the 44's hub is a warn hub, the stock hub looks just like it.

by the way, these are both on 1988 trucks.
the 44 is a F250-LD, and the 50 is a F250-HD

here is a D44 ifs:
