Has anyone had any issues with their windows. My drivers side window goes down weird when it's wet. It's like it falls an inch or two then the window goes down normal. It doesn't do it in the dry at all, just when it's wet. None of the other windows do it so i'm assuming it's something wrong.
I have been working on my drivers side window all day today. 04 Scab. The other night I rolled the window down and it didn't come up. Could hear motor running so I figured it came off track. I took off door panel and took out the whole regulator and motor unit and found that the main pulley that operates the slides in the tracks by way of wires and pulleys had the splines broke off of it. I said all that to say this; where those splines meet up with the motor, there is a rubber piece that those splines engage with, so, for you that might be slipping when it gets wet. I don't know how it could be getting wet because there is a moisture barrier behind the door panel, you might have a spline broke on your main pulley. There are three of these splines. I don't know what genius engineer designed these things, but it looks like a good system, but the weakest link is the most critical part. It could've been made of aluminum and solved the whole damn problem. I am in the middle of trying to find the pulley with out having to buy the whole damned contraption, but I probably won't have any luck, it probably is a dealer only part, and they will make me buy the whole thing. This probably more than what you wanted to know but I am venting a little.
no problem at all...thanks for the info...it just does it when the window is wet...it's still under warranty so i'm going to have them look at it....32,000 some miles so i figure it's about time to get all my warranty work in before i pass 36,000 miles...
