why are you running such small tires on a 79 truck? you can fit 35 stock. if you have a 6 inch kit youre truck must look really weenie. go bigger than 36's. be a real man. bigger is better.

who cares about the noise on the road. it you cant deal with it than find a new sport. Mileage, forget about it. you only live once so you might as well spend the money on what you want. once you do you wont think twice about getting them.

swampers aren't to bad on the pavement. but you have to keep in mind that all the off road tires availible are very soft on the rubber there for they dont usually last longer than 30,000 miles. i have a friend who had 38" mudders 6 ply, and he let them sit with the weight of the truck on them for a couple of months, guess what the rubber on them dried so hard that it felt like they had turned to plastic, plus the tires became d- shaped. if you are bold enough to ask these sort of questions about the tires, than be bold enough to by them!

Hey now, take it easy man, at least im not running street tires, im just tryin to find the best tire for my needs, i work hard for my money and i cant just go and throw it at a tire....if i decided i did not like it its not like i could just go out and buy another set, and to answer your question about why i dont go bigger.... i hate the way the truck used to look with the 33's all stuffed up in the fenders, with the 6 inches of lift and the 36's it will look about perfect in my eyes, and the other reason is i want to have some decent power to haul firewood and tote a trailer as effortlesly as i can now, i just wonder if i have a 4.10 rear, i need to invest in a tach..

I know. Everybody is all about bigger being better, but I tell you what, I see these chumps putting on 38's on their rig with light stock axles and without modifying their front end components. They are going to be tearing up their ***** real quick...but hey, they'll look good in the process right! 36s will be a good fit with your ride, but it is true that the real good offroad tires like the superswampers don't hold up as well on the asphalt. I compromised with some 35 BFG mud terrains and so far they have done great in mud, snow, and asphalt. Let us know what you get and how you like them.

in correction they are 40" tires on 21/2 ton rockwells, thank you very much. now as far as your dana 60, as long as you have a minium of 3.73 gears you'll be fine, 4.10 or 4.11 would be a better choice especially when you are loaded down.
