Getting my truck ready for paint, bolted on a new(used)fender and drivers door.No problems, besides the usual adjustments. Then, since I had a really nice matching pass door,I decided to toss that on too.For some reason,it wont even come close to lining up.It has a wicked sag towards the rear, and the top of the door hits the upper rear of the cab.If you slam it,it will pick up into place, and close.
The old door lined up mint, the new door fit perfectly on the other truck.Neither truck was ever whacked.
I had to pack up quick today, because it started raining(of course),but Im pretty sure I can get it by sliding the lower hinge back on the cab,to pick up the rear of the door,or shimming the lower hinge between the door and hinge.I'd really rather not.
I've never seen this before.I dont get how this could have happened?Anyone else?

I would be very suspect of the hinges. It will pick up and latch if pushed so I would say you have a hinge pin very worn.
I would definatly check hinges. I have the same problem. My drivers side door is falling like you described. My body guy is gunna swap in new pins and bushings.
Yeah, prob'ly what they said but could be a bent frame too.
When the frame bent the other stuff like fenders bend with them,
then you put on "new" stuff and it don't match. BTDT.
Like you say, "whacked" from the outside may not have anything
to do with what you see, whacked from underneath could.
Figure it out and tell us. :)
That's one reason body-men get big bucks. ;)

ps- did you know they can dig a -big- hole in the road in
Mexico and not put a sign any where and call it "good"? ;)
check your door pins,if the bad replace them,if not you need to adjust your door with the hinges, your best bet is to get a thick piece of cardboard and put it inder your door on top of the rocker panel, then close the door with the hinge to cowl bolts loosened.then check your lines and tighten the bolts.open and close your door to make sure it works ok.if your frame was bent your doors should still open and close fine, unless your frame is bent bad enough that your cab is bent too,and you should have no trouble seeing that with the naked eye.
I got it by moving the hinge back on the cab.Ive just never seen such a difference between 2 doors on 1 truck.I'm thinking the new door might be a repop that someone replaced years ago, instead of a Ford door.Oh well, its a plow truck-not a trailer queen.
