I had a post listed a while ago, did not get any response, so figured I would try one more time. The factory alarm system on my '05 arms itself when you turn the ignition off and get out of the truck. The problem is the sequence you need between turning off the ignition and when you open the door is what triggers it. The book tells me nothing, and it seems to go off at random when I get out of the truck. Does anybody know the pattern sequence of the ignition and door timing to arm the factory alarm system? If so please let me know berfore I lose my mind.
Some questions first:
- are you sure that you have the Ford accessory alarm system? Do you have a book for your alarm system or were you just trying to look in your truck's owner's manual?
- Do you also have remote start too?
- What does your remote keyfob look like (how many buttons)? Or do you have 2 different keyfobs?
- do you have a black programming button hidden near the bottom of your dash somewhere?
- Do you know the part number of your system?
If you indeed have the Ford accessory system, then I have some of the technical/programming documents for the Ford systems. Email me through my profile and I can email them to you.
It appears that there is a setting for the alarm system where it automatically arms itself after 1 minute of turning the key off. Maybe if you disable that setting it will solve your problem.
I have the Ford remote start system but not the alarm.
