74 Ford F100

Problem: the crossmember didnt align and the drive shaft came up 3in to short.
the small block running gear wasnt factory too but it came out of a 75 F100 truck same wheel base as the 74
Q: is there an adapter to shift everything toward the rear of the truck 3in? or will i have to adapt the linkages and lenthen the drive shaft?

How much firewall clearance do you have? It appears that you have used some engine mount that has the entire engine and trans too far foward. These frames have several sets of holes for the mounts to bolt to. Did you use a set that was too far foward?
You may have to get creative here, but it seems reasonable that moving the engine and trans back would make everything line right up.
How did you actually mount the engine?
That FE engine is just that by the way, an FE and not a BB. (just a point of clarification, and maybe being a little too critical)

I have lots of firewall clearance, I did not change the original mounts from the 74 that held the 390...
I mounted it on the mounts that came with the 74 they appeared to be identical to the onset in the 75 truck.. does someone have an adapter or offset brackets ?

You need to change the MOUNT SUPPORTS (also called perches) to the small block ones from what ever truck you took the 351W out of, and everything will then line up perfectly as long as you use all the running gear from the donor truck-you may have to change the driveshaft yoke to the one for the small block application.
