95 explorer help

you guys seem to have all the answers,so heres my prob.My 95 explorer has been on occasion dripping oil.Upon further inspection I found a rubber hose just hanging underneath. On the end of this rubber hose it appears to have some type of plastic cap.About a month ago I got the check engine light that comes on intermittently. You all have been helpful and any info would be appreciated.

What engine in your Explorer? What more can you say about the hose dripping oil? ..ie: what size is the hose, how long, where does the other end attach???

First thing that came to mind is that it could be from the PCV ... but am not sure without more info. Can you post some photos?

its a 6 cyl,and the hose does in fact loo like it could be pcv,its rubber and looks like a half inch diameter, with a plastic cap, found it hanging below the front axal.Sorry but a recent back surgery prevents me from really getting under it real well.Any idea where this pcv would connect to?Thank you so much for your reply

I'm guessing it's your front diff vent tube. It vents any pressure buildup from your axle housing to the outside world. It usually mounts to the frame somewhere, the mounting clip problably broke.
