E7TE head porting

E7TE head porting

I was wondering if anyone has tried to shape in a swirl into an E7TE head? I am currently working on a set for fun and noticed that as the air enters the head port it shifts to the right, left then drops into the cylinder. Im wondering if by exadurating the curves in the port as well as adding a swirl in the head chamber if i will see some more benefits. I plan on shaving .030 off to bring compression back up.

Maybe start with E6 heads then. After you hog out the exhaust ports they will flow as much as the E7, then lay back the chamber wall around the intake valve, and shave the head to reduce overall chamber volume. I did this to a set for my 5.8 and they worked surprisingly well.

Why would i want to spend time porting to open up a head to the size of the head im already working on. Im kind of regreting working E7 heads, i really wanted GT40s to start with.

Because the E6 heads have the swirl inducing combustion chamber shape.

OK.. here's another pic with the E7's on the left and a Dart head on the right, both valves could be considered shrowded by the chamber wall, but the exhaust ports on these outflow the intake ports on the E7!!
