My brother broke the right side front slip joint that goes from the axle to the center section. It has 3 bolts that bolt it to the center section. It's a 81 F150 4X4 that originally had a 302 4sp. He looked around the junk yards in Iowa for one and no luck. He will be in MN for in a few days. Will look around here. Would like to know if someone has a link for a break down of this part and what years to look for. I am thinking 80-86.
I checked cart-part.com for the junckyards around me. They have the axles starting at $40. I have a u-pull really close I could check out. The bronco graveyard has new axle parts. They list it as 80 to 83 with the 3 bolts holding it in. Later ones have the c-clip. Will the c-clip one work for the older ones or do I have to do some modifying. Which I have the skills and tools. Just have my heated garage full of my project car right now and don't want to do it in below zero weather. Thanks again for the info.
My brother was up here in Mn with me the last few days. We ended up ordering the new parts we needed from Jeff's bronco graveyard since he doesn't have a heated place to work on it and needed it going. He has had the truck for 20 years and its lasted that long. Figured it would probably last for another 20 if it was new parts. They are suppose to arrive at his place in Iowa on the 7th of Jan. Should have it going soon.
