Well if your talking about getting the EFI engine out of another vehicle to do the change over you'll need everything that came with the EFI engine Wiring harness, computer, sensors the works....But if you mean to convert an engine already in there to EFI Edelbrock and Holley sell aftermarket systems that come with all you need in Multi port and Throttle body injection. However if you want Factory equipment I believe you would have to change the heads and intake and add the EFI stuff and take a trip to the junk yard to aquire the Wiring harness ECM and sensors and stuff
I'm referring to removing a 300-6 NA ('87) and replacing it with a 302-8 EFI (supposedly from an '85). This seems out of sequence to me. Did Ford take longer to convert trucks to EFI?
I'm not looking to replace the manual transmission. The '85 was mated with an automatic.

hmm I think the 85 302cid ran CFI Fords version of TBI, in 86 you could get a multi port fuel injected 302 as an option in 87 Multi Port Fuel Injection became standard equipment on the 300s and 302s the 351W and 460 Followed up in 88. GM took the longest to go to Multi port EFI on their trucks they continued running TBI into the 90s not sure how long they continued using it
