Couple questions.

1) I own an 04' XLT, 5.4 4x4.
Since it is the XLT, it doesn't have the lighted running boards, but they do have the oval shape in them and look like I could cut that out and add lights. Anyone here have any experience on that? I would even be willing to buy a black lighted set if they were the right price.

2) Second, anyone know where I could get a set of the limited wheels. The ones with the 5 "D" shaped holes in good shape?

3) My interior lights are funny. They only come on when I open and of the 2 front doors. Also, you know how after you remove the key the radio will keep playing until the doors are opened, if you open the back doors, the radio keeps playing. The lights won't activate with the 2 rear doors, or the back barn. Any suggestions? This problem looks to be the opposite of the rest of light issues I am seeing on here.

1. You cannot add them without making a mess doing the cut-outs. See if you can find a pair on eBay. But FWIW, I never thought the lights were well placed and do virtually nothing to light up the boards where you step.

2. eBay.

3. First try spraying the latches down with WD-40 or similar. Open and close a few times and see if that works. They can "break" both ways. Either not turning the lights on or not allowing them to go off.

If that fails then I would search for the common power or ground wire for all the doors. Where you ask? Got me.

Monsta always has good advice and I'm in total agreement with his take on the lights... they really provide nothing.

You can also search Criags List - I've seen several sets of the rims your wanting in my area.

WD40 should do the trick!

Ok,
So I should spary the latch mechanism on the door, not the hinges that the door swings on? I've been told by the ford dealer to grease the hinges the door pivots on.

You need to spray the latch - not the hinges. The 'door open' switches are contained inside the latch.
