I have another question for the nonending tire discussions. My 06 F350 has the original junk Continental 18" tires. It basically sucks in the snow and I use this truck for plowing some parking lots and driveways. I hate to buy new tires at 14K, but I am almost forced to. My 85 F250 with plow can run circles around this 06 when plowing. Any thoughts on the best tire for this applicaction?
Thanks

Was in the same situation with my 06' F-350 six-o,,Here is what I did,,,Found a set of 17" F-250 take-off,,05'to 07' on Ebay,,, mine are the 5 spoke 17" Alloys,,,pd like $285 shipped to my door,,Then I purchased a set of Hankook Dyna Pro RT03 285/70R17 on Ebay $659 shipped to my door,,look close to BFG Mudd-Terrains,,but there studdable,,which I had them Studded,,on my 2nd winter now with these for my winter tires,,they are so much better in mud and snow,,,,,use the stock 18" Polished wheels,,,w/ Contis for summer use.
I found that the 18" tires are so expensive as of yet,,got 2 sets about the same $.
I am running 285-65 x 18 BFG AT's and they work well for plowing duties. These trucks also need a substantial amount of weight in the rear of the truck bed to act as a plow counterweight.
My 8' HD Fisher plow runs about 800# and I have about the same weight in the truck bed behind the rear wheels. This is working well and (so far) the truck has been a beast in the snow.
E-bay is an excellent source for OEM rims. For some reason folk remove the heavy duty OEM rims and install weak over-sized after-market stuff. This works out just great for those of us who need to use these trucks to work.
