92 explorer questions

92 explorer questions
hi all,
normally I dont post here because i have a 94 F150, but im looking for some help with my brothers truck. he has a 92 explorer XLT 4wd 4 door with the 4.0 V6 and 5 speed manual (not sure which 5 speed, I know theres a couple.) im not sure of the gear ratio/axle/etc, havent looked at it that close yet.
i have a couple questions for you folks;
first, whats the fuel tank size. I asked the local stealership, and the said "well, the truck is an antique to our system" and didnt have an answer, but said ballpark was 16 gallons (thanks
) also looked at LMC, but the catalog just said "gas tank" and not "16 gallons" or "18 gallons" etc. does anyone know. were trying to figure out gas mileage, and its kinda hare=d without tank size.
also, what can we expect to fix/replace on the truck. its only got 116,00+- miles on it (compared to my 183,000+)
we live in CT where they go CRAZY with road salt so rust is a big problem.
