Fuel problems

I have a 1990 F-350. It no longer has fuel injection but has the stock fuel pumps and a regulator. It has a carbureated 460 now. I can't get enough fuel out of the stock pump I run out at higher rpms. My question is can i put an inline fuel pump in the frame and unhook the stock one. I am unsure if it will draft out of the tank with the pump still there??

unplug the power wires to the pump only and put a block pump on.but yes you can run a inline fuel pump with the stock intake pump as long as its unplugged .but if you install a on block fuel pump(mech. pump) then you can by pass the regulators.get a 3 port mech. pump, one port for return, one for sending and one for the carb.
