I received the build sheet for my 1988 F150 4x4 today. It lists something interesting in the color section, which I had suspected. If you look around the back of the sheet metal on a door when it is open, it almost looks like the truck was two-tone at one point. There is a small stripe of darker blue exactly where it would be if the truck were two tone. Now, the build sheet lists the color as "Bright Regatta Blue Metallic Clearcoat Exterior Paint Color" and "Deep Shadow Blue Metallic Clearcoat Exterior Accent Paint Color" and "Combination Two-Tone Paint". It appears that my truck was repainted in the past with all Bright Regatta Blue.
Does anyone have a two-tone truck with this color combination. I'd love to see what it looks like. I intend to replace some sheet metal this coming summer, and a repaint will follow, so I'm curious what this looks like.
If anyone could post some pictures - that'd be great - I'd really appreciate it!
