i dont know but i think its hard to replace those flat 2 leaf springs with something noticibly softer. i guess the ride is just part of owning a 1 ton truck,

You can get a reverse shackle kit for yur truck that puts the shackles at the rear of the leafs, the problem is they raise the front about 2". I forget the manufacturer right now, but they advertise in the back of most 4x4 mags.
Thanks for the replys. I was thinking of trying some leaf springs from an F-250, maybe with 4" lift to compensate for the F-350 ride height. I am aware of the shackle reversal kit, it's sold by Off-Road Unlimited in Burbank. I'm considering this, but I'd like to get an opinion from someone who has installed it first.

im not positive on this but i do know your f-350 should have a solid dana 60 up front while the 250 had the ttb dana 44 up front, while they both had the leaf springs i dont know if they are interchangable or not but i think they will produce the same ride because they are of the non arched twin leaf design, hers right about the shackle flip, that will help out... just an idea, but you could contact national spring and work with them on some custom springs, they usually go with a thicker pack made up of very \thin leaves which results in a smooth ride with good flex and resistance to sagging

LAST EDITED ON 29-May-01 AT 11:06 AM (EST)[p]I agree with 85351ho...you have a 1-ton, they will be stiff. My wife doesn't care for the ride in the '60 F-350 either...
I have a 96 F-350 that I put a simple add-a-leaf on,this really helped out the ride. All it does is give you a positive arch & gives you more suspension travel. I even put a 4" lift on & it rides beter now than it ever has.
I talked with a guy from a local spring shop about eventually putting one ton springs on my truck. Then I asked him if I would ever need new springs if I changed from the Dana 50 to the Dana 60. He said no. So I would imagine that you could swap in 3/4 ton springs without issue.
Another suggestion would be to change your shocks. Get the Ranchero 9000s and set them on 1. Makes for a much softer ride. Or get Ranchero 5000s I hear they suck (meaning they are weak) (meaning they have a soft ride). I don't know much about other brands.
