HID kit install for 04 Ford F150
Okay..
I just bought a HID 6K headlight kit for my 04 F150. When I went to install, I noticed that the ballast has a 2 prong male connector, but the harness that holds the light bulb has 3 prongs female. So I just thougth I connect together, but no power went to the ballast.
There is a harness that does come with the kit, a 2 prong female that goes into the ballest and the other end is 2 open wires that I think I can plug into 2 (red wire and black wire) of the 3 female plugs (harness that holds the light). All I know is that the middle wire on the 3 female plug is black, so I know that is negative, anyone know which of the other two are positive?
I tried all combos and the light did light up one time then I blew a fuse. Anyone have pics of their install and the plug set up..
Any help would be great..
thanks

HIDs are typically only one output, so there only needs to be a single pair of connectors. If your HID module has a filament or a motor to adjust it's focus, then that's what the other wires do.
Each ballast should have a pair of wires going to the battery, then if they are nice, a plug in harness that goes to the stock headlight harness and finally an output to the HID module.
