Odd one time only starting problem
I went to start the truck today, cranked it over and it acted like it was gonna start then just kept cranking, I let off the key and repeated this twice with the same results but this time whit smoke followed. Alass one more crank and it fired up like normal but with a hefty belch of white smoke then nothing and ran like normal. After five or six errands and five or six start ups still no issues. I put the truck on a good delphi scan tool and had no thrown codes. Any ideas, Injectors, valves?? As of right now I havent pulled the valve covers to see whats going on under there, so what you guys got. Thanks in advance.

Probably not injectors or valves. Poor GP operation can cause this, as can failure of CPS to signal CI properly, as can a lack of fuel initially, though you did get some eventually as evidenced by the white smoke. Lack of ICP could cause a long start problem too if the HPOP reservoir is not full which looks like lack of fuel as mentioned.
