upper ball joints

has anyone experienced any premature failures with upper ball joints?i have a 1990f150 2wd and did them all about 16 months ago and now the uppers are gone.i do have wide tires on it 295/50r15 all around. wondering if that could hurt the truck or did i just not do the job right?any input will be greatly apprecciated thanx paulieg69

All I can say is I have a 97 f250 and my upper balljoints were wasted a 45,000 miles I got the deales to take care of things even though it was out of the factory warrenty
