Coming home a week ago and out of the blue the tranny quit on me. There was no warning or previous signs of tranny problems. The next day I checked the fluid it was very low, but registered on stick and appeared clean and not burnt. Topped off fluid, warmed up truck and tranny shifted through all the gears just fine, but no power in drive under acceleration. Reverse seems to have a lot of power. There is a clicking noise when moving that I'm fairly sure is coming from the transfer case. Again, it shifts into and out of all gears, but no power. Please help me out here guys.
I just developed a leak at the bracket on the crossmember holding they lines (they rusted/corroded to three times there normal size) and appear to be 'sweating' tranny fluid. To the point, mine got down to just covering the hash marks on the bottom add section and my tranny kept working fine, after I saw it I noticed sort of shuddering/slippy clutch feeling I was attributing to not having the friction modifier right after changing the wheel bearings (only happened shift into OD or from a stop around tight corners) , after topping off the tranny it all worked fine and the shudder went away. I was kind of surprised I would be getting slippage when in the end it was only 3/4 of a quart low. Is this normal or can I expect my tranny to go soon (150k on it)?
