oxygen sensor replacement

95 5.8 o2 sensors. Will thay throw a check engine light when thier going bad, or can they be bad and not throw any codes? Also where is the cheapest place to get motorcraft o2 sensors?

Yes, before they go bad, but most O2 codes aren't caused by the sensor. It's telling something about whats happening prior to it. however they can become contaminated and towards the end of there life their switching speed slows and they become less and less accurate. Motorcraft o2 sensors are private labeled for And made made by bosch. Any parts store that sells bosch. Bosch will have a cross referenced #. 60K miles for your year but switching can degradate prior enough to effect drivability & MPG. How old are yours & what are the codes?

They have about 104000 on them. Their the original ones. There is no codes, Im just wondering if they are a valuable investment to return past performance or are they not worth until you would know for sure they were bad.

Yea, you'll probably p/u a few MPGs & a little smoother idle/ better acceleration, extend the Cat Convrtr. life. Slight reduction in your huge protruding Carbon Footprint.
