vacuum troubleshooting question

I've got a 78 F150 5.0/302, automatic and I'm trying to troubleshoot it dying when I put it in gear (it is not lunging forward). I replaced the distributor and I'm picking up a new coil this morning, but I think there is still a vacuum leak somewhere (I get a VERY LOUD 'WHEEZING SOUND' when it dies).

I've been told to unhook and plug all the vacuum connections and see if the truck runs. I've plugged all the connections on the vacuum tree on the rear of the manifold, but I'm not sure what else should be plugged. What about these ports:
Port on the top of the carb (2150 motorcraft)
HUGE port on the 1" plate under the carb that connects to the PCV valve.
Temperature switch that is next to the tree on the rear of the manifold with two ports?

thanks for the help guys...this trucks been sitting in my garage for a LONG time and I'm trying to get it out of there this winter so I can park my wife's vehicle in there at night.

spray some engine starter around where you think you may have a vacuum leak, if the engine rpm increases there``````````s a leak.GO over the intake and carb bolts with a wrench and make sure they are snugged down.

thanks for the reply man, but I gave up. Replaced the distro and coil and it just wouldn't run. Started digging around more and I just didn't have the time and space to fix it up like I wanted to. I donated it to charity about 3 hours ago. Was sad to see it go, but I'm sure I'll feel a little better when I pull my new (to me) 1997 F-350 up the driveway tomorrow afternoon!!
