"A quick glance at the venerable bias-ply tirereveals that your far more likely to see one in a setting where fuction comes first than under somthing hauling a 1000$ stereo system down hollywood blvd. come to think of it, it would take that sort of stout sound system to overpower the tire noise these babies make.

"ON THE HIGHWAY, RELUCTANTLY"
"we expected the worst and then some when intoducing the wide mudders to the pavement. In reality they were the first tires ever to allow letting go of the test vehicle's steering wheel, not pulling to the sides or showing even a hint of tracking in the grooves on the freeways. surely the switch from 10-to-8 inch wide whls had something to do with this, but it was still a pleasent and a very enexpected surprise. the buckshots also grabbed the pavement amazingly well for a skinny bias ply with a mud tread, providing grip for cornering, even when wet. again, not exactly what we had expected. Did we mention they are very noisy?

"Where they righfully belong"
"Continuing to impress us, the buckshot mudders did pretty much everything we asked them to do on the trails, except not sinking down in the soft stuff. on rocks, soft and hard packed dirt-wherever there was traction to be found-the not-so-wide mudders seemed to find some. when the trail surface was loose, however, the buckshot eventually turned into an excavator, desperately digging for somthing to bite-just like skinny agressive tires are fond of doing. that type of behavior can be great in mud, but unfortunately this was written is a very hot july in socal-you guessed it, there wasn't even any moist dirt to be found.
