Now that piaa has 9008 bulbs, I need to pick up some supplies. I'd like to find 9008 connectors, relays and some good (soft jacketed, high strand count) wire from one place. Anyone have a good source? I couldn't find it all at Delcity, but I am going to check digikey and mouser.
I found everything but mini spools of wire I liked at mouser. So now I need to educate myself on wire. The big things I am looking for is a soft/flexible jacket and high strand count. Can anyone explain how to spec wire without seeing it?
Here is a good source for 9008 connectors and relays: suvlights.com
Here is a good source for wiring: mcmaster.com, just go for the standard 300VAC stranded wires. These wires have higher strand counts with very flexible jacket. I used these wires on my truck and very happy with them.
I found the best wiring to use is primary wire from any parts store. It has a nice soft/resilient silicone jacket and not much of a resistance drop problem.
You must have good parts stores locally. The junk everyone around here sells is low strand count of heavy wire with a hard insulator. I've used Metra's Install bay wire in the past, and it's a completely different class of wire. Super soft jacket, very high strand count. It can be a pain at times because of the hair sized strands, but it was nicer to work with.
