Home prices have been stable (here), the economy hasn't really tanked (here), gas has been affordable for some time (here), but this kinda took me by surprise.
I try to keep up with what's going on around the rest of the country, as far as this kind of business goes, along with construction, but this hits close to home, having just bought 2 new company trucks from one of the dealers that is having to close their doors.

However, I do understand the reason for cutting back.
I think it would break my heart to tell my guys that they should start looking for another job.
I'm worrying about things here as I do the towing for 3 dealers who between them cover 9 auto badges. They are laying off service writers and their service mgrs. are now writing for them and are glad to have the job.
My Ford/Mopar dealer and my GM dealer are both small and I worry that they be closed down in the downsizing effort by the auto manufacturers. However, they are the only dealers of any kind in my county. I guess those of us in small towns and counties across the country will be the ones that suffer the most.
Home prices have cratered here and the only construction is to replace homes burned in the 2007 fires. That is about finished up now. There are no contractors buying new trucks.
Tulsa used to be an oil and aircraft town. Is that still the case? It seems with oil prices down and airlines in trouble that it would hurt your local economy. No longer true?
