Manual to Auto

Ok, what would be involved in putting a C6 into my truck. 1977 F150 4x4 4spd with a 400.

find a c6 from a 4wd with correct adaptor for your transmission, a set of pedals and a steering column for an automatic 4wd that's the easiest way a 4wd trans mission because the tail shaft is different from a 2wd the correct adaptor because most mid 70's 4wd automatics were fulltime np 203s, the steering column because the sector shaft for a 4wd has the u-joint you can pull the sector shaft out of your column if you want all the wiring is there in your harness.any set of pedals from a truck with the same master and power booster should bolt right in. you may have to change rear cross members tranny mount to. best bet try to find a truck with an auto and take a look.

When I did it to my old 78 F150, I had to shorten the rear driveline and have a new front one built that was longer. Crossmember was the same. Transfer case shift linkage was also different length. Hope this helps a bit.
