I bring the skid home for big storms. Anything else I let melt down.

I've got a hydraulic V-plow for my CAT 236B that works good. And if it gets real deep the bucket isn't too bad either.

Well actually it's dad's machine, but still.

it pulled the the 6 or 8 inches right out of my drive way... into one pile and the neabhor drove over it with his 3 wheeler and spread it out across the road...

besides... a plow for a drive way? mind you my drive way is only about one full size(the ford) one mid size(the dodge) and if we park close enough together we can get my step dads prius in there.... anyways... im cheap and it worked...

Have an old Wheel Horse tractor with wheel weights, antifreeze in the tires, and chains to push a 4' plow.
Gonna try something a little different this year. I had an old poly barrel that I cut a couple of chunks out of and bolted to the plow blade to act as a non-stick surface. The snow didn't stick bad to the steel plow, but it doesn't glide of when angle plowing as well as I'd like. Hopefully the plastic will help with that.
Need some plowable snow first, so I can try it out.
I do my driveway, then a part of my street (you'd have to see where i live for that to make sense). I enjoy doing it. All bundled up with a nice stogie going for the couple of hours it takes to get everything and some of the neighbors. In the old days, I'd be sure my personal anti-freeze level was always topped off, but those days are over (thankfully, too, I might add. Not "speechifying" here, bu I didn't learn how much I was missing until I quit drinking!)

snowblower...many many passes. 100 foot driveway 25 feet feet wide, 24 inch chute. still better than shoveling.., someday this 1985 sears 4hp caterpillar style drive is going to die. and I'll buy something with a wider chute and around 10 horses. winter doesn't come to SE Pennsylvania like it used to, and It doesn't make sense to buy a new one for the little bit of slush we get.

you guys are all lucky with your plows and skiders and what not....

today i was driving home and seen the ultimite red neck... a guy with a get this... PUSH MOWER pushing it over the snow with it running...

maybe i should fix the old riding mower and make some sort of plow for it... ehh some day ill get off my lazy behind and do it... for now... that bumper works good enough for me...

when you guys plow your driveway/roads, do you guys go all the way to the blacktop? or just a bit off the top? cause i want to know if the guy whos running our community plow is just being lazy or if hes doing it the way he is for some reason{cause theres about an inch of compacted snow that seems more dangerous to me then powder}

Down to the asphalt when I clear. Dunno what's goin on with your guy.

If it's a light powdery snow I'll fire up the BR600 (backpack blower) and just blow the driveway clean.

ok just making sure... cause i cant remember when my dad did it... i just remember he used to get mad cause some one would mess up the skids on the plow cause they didnt set it up correctlly{this is when my dad was the mantince man for the community, and lived around 50 miles away}

i think the guy who was plowing tonight has a few problems... plus was probablly never showed how to set everything up or how to do it...
