bad coil....maybe?
The last time I drove my truck it idled a little rough until it got warm. When it finally idled on it's own, I jumped out and popped the hood. I heard something that sounded like popcorn popping, but it was that obvious sound of an electrical arc. I wanted to run it in the dark so I could see the arc but had to come back home before sunset (I store the truck an hour away). I already planned on replacing the cap, rotor, and wires just because I don't know when it was done last, I just got the truck. I was just wondering if you all think I'm headed down the right road by inspecting the coil. The crackling happened too fast for it to be only one cylinder, it was multiple cylinders for sure.
