Got an 07' with 20K on it. Has the V8 joke Mustang engine in it.. 292hp engine and it's limp dick until it's running at 4000rpms.

Let's compare... Before this mess I had an 04' F150 with the 5.4. Towing the same boat I got 17.5-18mpg with the F150. The Sport Trac pulls the same boat at 11-12mpg. Basically a 2000lb load. 5.4 produces 80% of it's torque at 1000rpms. This 4.6 Mustang engine doesn't live till 3500-4000rpms. Towing on the Hwy at 1800-2000rpms it's way out of it's range and burns fuel like it was built by OPEC.. I can match what it does in my 88 Bronco..with the 3 speed C6 and and 351 gas hog..

Just a bad choice of engines on Ford's part. The 4.6 and 5.4 are the same block, same size engine.. Why didn't they just put the 5.4 engine in the Sport Trac..??

Tried getting out the lease to buy a new 08' F150 while the sales are going on, but Ford wouldn't move..
