hey guys plugged in my heater block in for the first time last night left it plugged in all night about 10hrs, my question when i first plugged it in to the terminal and plugged the cord to my outlet inside of the house the engine block heater is making a low level hissin sound as best as i can describe it. is this considered normal?
When I plug mine in I always wait for a few seconds so I can hear it start to heat the coolant, even immediately after shut down you can hear it come on, however I don't think it makes any noise after that first bit.
Wow 10 hrs. It must have been really cold to need it on for that long. I use a timer and have it turn on about 2 hrs (at 10 deg) before truck is needed.
About 2-3 hr before you leave is good keeping plug that wear it out quicker at all I do 2-3 hr before you will get warm air from the heater the sound ok when you do not hear it burnt out
