Has anyone replaced this relay...Can I access the bank thru the center console where the radio/heater controls are. I'd rather not rip the whole dash apart if I can avoid it... Its -20 here and I don't want to break anything else. Heat is on and I can hear a "click" in the center of the dash when I turn the switch to high. After it warms up a bit, it sounds like the relay acutates and then the blower works correctly....Kind of stinks to try and drive looking out a small clearing in the bottom of the windshield that gets defrosted.
Sounds more like the blower motor resistor pack which is under the dash on the passenger side.
The blower motor relay is in a plastic box with the flasher relay. Look under the black plastic panel in the center of the dash from the dash to the floor.
Well I found the relay and replaced it.....Now it just needs to get colder so I can test it....
Thanks for you reply...I probably be looking into that next.....not much fun ripping into the dash when its -20....
OK, another cold day...problems back, til the truck warms up....
If this problem were the Blower resistor, wouldn't the problem be there all the time, and not go away when it warms up a little? Usually if a resistor is bad, it's bad.
Maybe just gremlins....
