Does any know what the threads in the regulator, if you screw the schrader valve out of the regulator ? I plan on putting a fuel pressure guage there. Did the FPR shim the weekend, but need to do strainer cleaning, was a little uncertain of were strainer is actually located and whether or not needed new oring to go between filter assy. and the regulator, was nervous about it.
I don't think it is 1/8" npt. I believe it is an o-ring fitting. I bought an adaptor from somewhere (dieselsite or ITP not sure) that would adapt it to npt fittings. Still have it unused. It was around $20 bucks I think. Check those sites.
Thanks ron86toy and Neal 97 250 for the info and pics. Is it possible that that strainer on my truck is metal, I can see a metallic looking cylinder under the reg., look like it's hard to get to.
Yup...they had metal and plastic......the plastic tend to break....you can take out that screen and roll it out to clean it.you may have to pull the FPR off the bowl to get to it...but you can clean the other screen thoroughly while it is off.

Neil, the female threads on the FPR are 1/8 NPT. Here's a pic of what mine used to be. 1/8npt short nipple into the regulator, 1/8npt street elbow and then 1/8npt coupler with fuel pressure gauge.
