OK, you can start laughing now, I "inherited" a chevy chassis class C motor home. Its a 24 ft 83 c30 chevy w/350 4bbl th400 with only 37,000 miles, Its been parked for at least 2 yrs, Questions are, With only a 350 is this thing going to be able to get out of its own way?, how many HP does a 83 chev 350 have?. The thing is in excellent cond. and its FREE!. Is it going to be able to climb a 6% grade at high alt. at more than 30mph?, or am I going to have to have my wife follow with the F350 with the 2,500lbs boat in tow? I would rather ask here, than go and register on a Chevy forum and take the abuse! LOL!!
"force It!....if It Breaks,..it Needed Replacing Anyway!" You need to worry if it can get out of an 18 wheelers' way. As for hp not enough. Put a hitch on the rear for the boat and a towbar on the front for the 350 to pull both.
If it's got a 350 4 bolt main? Decent enough. THM400? Fairly strong transmission. IMO.
Will it go up a hill? Yeah, but don't expect to get there to fast LOL. About the only thing it won't pass?
The Gas Station!
Actually congrats on the free 'home'. Get the maintenance up to date on it...and see how it works for short weekend outings. (wish I had something like that to drive to MN to see the wife's family. Yeah it would cost megabucks for gas, but it's better then to be shoved into a dinky motel room with tiny bars of soap, and walls so thin you can hear the person in the next room fart.)

Yeah, thats what I was worried about. Probably have to get a permission slip to drive it on the freeway! LOL!!..I have alot of experience with truck campers, so I can do the maintenence. I still dont think I am going to get rid of the Lance camper on the F350 for this thing.
It'll probably be okay if it was taken care of. If it's sat for 2 years, I'd probably do a complete fluid change, and a full tune up. New belts, probably tires. If it's as clean as you say it is, you could have probably gotten 5 or 6 grand for it up my way as recent as 6 months ago. I doubt you'd get that much for it now though.
