I am not sure if the c4 was stock behind anything or not,but there isn't any reason you couldn't put one behind the 351w if you want to. that is the combo i ran in my 78 f100,351w and c4 tranny.
I dont really care about the c4. I have a guy that has a sb ford with a c4. He says they are from an all factory car(?). I'll see if he knows how to check the firing order.
I was wondering how well the engine swap went. I also have a '79 F-150 4x4 300 I6 that I'm trying to install a 351W in it's place. The problem I'm having right now is the frame perches/towers for the engine mounts.
I had read on here that the frame perches were the same for the V8 and I6, and that you would only have to bolt them up to holes in the frame for the V8. The problem I am having now is that the bolt hole spacing on the frame isn't the same between the V8 location and the I6 location.
Were you able to use the original 300's frame perches or did you have to get/fabricate some different ones all together?
