1996 4.9 mods?

I just got a 1996 Ford f150 eddie bauer edition. It is a reg. cab short bed with dual tanks and a 4.9l I6 with a 5 speed manual.

I was wondering if their was any modifications for my truck.I have looked and couldn't find much but i know that their has to be something out their. i was looking for a turbo or supercharger but couldn't find anything, and didn't find a tuner.

So if anyone has modifications to their 4.9 let me know how well they worked

Thanks

There is a reason you are not finding a lot of speed modifications for the 4.9. It wasn't designed to be speedy. It was the best TRUCK engine Ford ever built. It will pull anything or pull it in two. It will last long enough to pass on to your grandkids with reasonable maintence and reasonable use.
You are trying to take a Clysdale to the Derby. It will try, but it was not designed to do it. If you have your truck long enough and live long enough, you will realize how wrong this is.
If you want to go fast in a truck, sell this one and look for a big block. You can have a lot less time and money invested and be much quicker.

Well said.

Not intending to burst you bubble. Your choice of truck is a fine one. An optioned out EB with the fuel injected 300 I-6 makes for a nice ride.

Your better off looking for another with a V-8 for hot rod performance.

Here's my 96 EB 300 5sp.

Best of luck to ya.

thanks i know the engine is one of most reliable ford makes thats why i got it. all i really want is chip just something for a little boost not much. i said the supercharger or turbo because when i retire this one i want to turn it into a show truck and thought it'd be cool to have something no one else had.

Heres about all i want to do performance wise right now
A Chip
A cold air intake
A custom exhaust

Has anyone done theese and know if they work well.

Thanks

ps thats a nice truck mines short bed and maroon and tan i love it

for the custom exhaust do research, these things tend to sound like a tractor lol

and the cold air intake may not be as worth it as you may think, since these engines make most of their power at low end and the cold air intake performs best at high end it may not give u as much as you expected

and i wish they made a supercharger kit for these
