X-codes?
I was underneath the truck today, changing my oil over to the beautiful green colored Schaeffers brand series 9000 full synthetic and I noticed a yellow X on the end of my front leaf springs. I took a pic but you can't make the X out too well. Trust me it's right there stamped in the middle of that yellow dot.
Are these the fabled X codes on my truck or what?

an easier way to tell if your truck has X code springs from the factory is to look at the warranty sticker on the B pillar. it will tell you what your springs are.

I agree at looking at the sticker.
By "SPR" the first letter will be X if you have X-codes.
Or "Front GAWR" will be 6000lbs if you have the X-codes.
V if you have the V-codes which are 5200lbs, U if you have the U-codes which are 4800lbs, etc..
Not sure the X codes are really fabled as they are on my 99, 00, 02 and 04

Yeah, fabled was the wrong word choice, just the word that came to mind, and it was something that I thought I might like to upgrade to at one point.

Cold you use X codes to give a little bit of a lift in the front and how much do they run?

Yes, they do sit the tallest of all the stock leaf springs.
Not sure on cost...I thought they were fairly cheap (under $200), but I'm not sure.
Ed the partsguy may be able to help with price.

It originally must have had V codes because it says 5200lbs in the front. But that yellow dot definitely says X in the middle. Maybe the PO upgraded.

He might have upgraded them due to putting in the snow plow. I need to replace my springs since my bushings have went out.

I'll have to look at one of my trucks with the x-codes and see if they have an X.
