problems with the pcm

I have a 1995 ford explorer with about 160k miles and my check engine light comes on from time to time so i took it to the local autozone to use one of there obd scanners and they said that it wouldn't link up to my truck also tried 2 more different obd scanners and got the same result. any one have this problem and if so can tell me what they think i sould do to fix the problem thanks

Did they try an OBD-2 scanner or an OBD-1/EEC-IV code reader? '95 was the last year for EEC-IV, so the vast majority of '95's are still OBD-1/EEC-IV, and the test connector is under the hood (driver's side if I remember right). If you are using the OBD-2 port under the dash, you won't get anything because it's not hooked up.

The OBDI connector is on the passenger side between the blower housing and the inner fender.

OBDII was not functional until late 96.
