when i start or stop the truck it causes the turck to shuter this is my frist diesel should it be like this i mean is realy shuter the hole truck shakes
sounds like you have some transmission problems, is it an auto? those E40D's can really be a pain sometimes. check your universal joints, motorand tranny mounts too.
Definitly check the ujoints like usmc mentioned. Go shake them up and down and twist them back and forth. Also, Don't forget to check the carrier bearing in the center of the driveline if yours has one and the yokes comming out of the rear end and diff. ...Also, Set the park brake and put truck in nutural. This will free up driveline and let you check it. You need to also check and see if your driveshaft is in time if it has a slip joint or a center ujoint. make sure the yokes are the same way on both ends of each drive shaft, otherwise it will bind a little and shake like crazy expecially if it is at a large angle to the axle.. Yours may not have a split driveshaft going to the rear like mine so this may not apply.
About what speeds do you feel it start and stop shaking/vibrating at. You say it shakes the whole truck, what about tires/front end problem? Can you feel it in the steering wheel? Is your 4x4 enguaged with the front hubs UNLOCKED. I know that alot of them little driveshafts to the front are not balanced well and if the transfer case is left in even with the hubs unlocked, it will shake like crazy.
