01 Excursion abruptly stalls, intermittant
Although the OSS tested good it was replaced. The problem is Intermittent, it may do it 3 X a day, or not for a week, then do it once. It always starts up after the stall out. Has not stalled at speed, only when your accelerating, leaving a stop sign, or light.
The plug (to OSS), and associated harness was inspected, no corrosion or damage found. The Crank and cam sensors were checked (although they did not "code"), and passed fine. Fuel pressure checks "OK" No notable change in fuel consumption.
has been to dealer, problem still exists. Dealer said no TSB's or "OASIS" notes on these symptoms.
Has anyone had this problem on a Excursion or Superduty and gotten a resolution?
Any Ford Techs have any ideas? It seems to be getting worse, in terms of frequency.
Also the key switch may be the problem.
If the fuel fliter hasn't been changed in the last 5000 miles I would have it changed first.
Check mass air flow electrical connections and clean.
Seems to me that the torque produced at take-off is enough to get it to shift and not get a good "contact" to make a complete signal. That; or the wires are indeed chafed somewhere and that same torque action is causing a short.
I would see if you can determine where that sensor grounds to as well. Could be a loose ground.
