99 Ranger XLT
he has to hold the gas pedal down and rev the engine or drive around the block until the engine gets warm...even then it may not stay running.
But the biggest problem is getting it started!!!
Could be a number of things.
Did this problem come about suddenly, after some event, or slowly over time????
Does he have a CEL lit????
If so, have him run this puppy by his favorite autoparts store, for a no cost computer trouble code scan, then post ALL the trouble code numbers found, as they can offer up good trouble shooting clues.
Which engine & tranny does it have, how many miles on it & where is it on ALL past & present due scheduled maintenance items????
Have you done any under hood tests, like fuel pressure, IAC & TPS sensor testing, ect????
5 speed trans. I think at present we are leaning towards the TPS
You didn't mention whether or not he had a CEL lit. If not, some srores won't do a scan, so we can't find out if anything is in the computers CM. to remedy this, just have him loosen the gas cap on the drive to the store, to turn the CEL on.
Any port in a storm.....RIGHT!!!! lol
about it I don't know if would show anything, but that..it was changed then went bad about 3 months after install..
