Now that i got the truck off the road its time to start figuring out what my knock is. What order should i go with trying to figure it out?
I was thinking scan it, pull vc see if anything broke bent then maybe compression test.
What do you guys think?
It sounded like from your other post that you feared maybe hydrolock and a stuck injector, so i would scan it first for good measure, then try turning it by hand and if it aint budging then pull the gp's and see which cylinder has the fuel. And at the same time maybe inspect the rocker arms, then the push rods.
yeah thats what im thinking. Talking with Jim from rosewood hes thinking its prob a push rod. It would be great it that is all it is.
Any one know if there are HD push rods? Jims saying it bent push rods seem to be a problem lately?

Did Jim give you the proceedure for installing them (clocking the motor) ?
yes, they make HD pushrods. they use them in trucks that have upgraded valve springs to handle extra boost/backpressure.
I'll look for something for ya.
Well next summer i plan on doing push rods, srings and studs just to be safe. I found them all at Vehicle Product Types about 3/4 down the page. They currently have the quickest ET's with a 7.3 and it just so happens to be an OBS, the thing screams. Look on youtube for WOP 7.3 on the streets, or something like that and one will come up inside the cab..... the truck blows out sideways at like 50. Its insane.
