Lost Key
So i was packing up to come home from college, which is 2 1/2 hours from my house, when i realized that my key for my truck was missing. After searching for forever i gave up and just left it at school and found a ride home. My father and me went to the dealership that it was bought at and got the key code, but the worker told us the only possible to get the truck and key to work together was to have it towed to the closest ford dealership
Does anyone know if this is true or of any other way to sync the key???

They might figure on clearing out the old keys for you as a security measure but there are supposed to be ways around it. The manual for your truck should be available from the top page menu at the home page. Not for ancient Ranger like my old 93 long before keyless brainy keys.

Yeah, to program keys you need Ford VCM tool. Dealers have it. It is a small box with cabels and computer program that lets you do all with engine security..... Dealers do not like to go to someone's home to reprogramm PCM and want car/truck be towed to them.....

There are key transponder code readers and copiers. You can make a copy....if you have a key.... and if you have 2 keys with different codes yo can learn 2 additional keys yourself w/o VCM. Well, now nobody knows key code so taw truck to any dealer and ask to clear all old transponder codes and prorramm 2-3 keys.
